This was a great base, but I made a few tweaks. I mixed 2 cups of dry milk with 1 cup dry goat milk, doubled the sugar and doubled the coco. I also used demerara organic sugar that I ground into a fine power in a coffee grinder. Using the organic sugar and goat milk give it a more homey flavor
The packet of instant dried milk that used was 3.2 oz. I measured that, and it was 1 1/4 cups. I scaled down the recipe to 7 servings to be close to that amount. I also used confectioners sugar in place of white. After reading reviews, I put all of the ingredients in my mini-processor, gave it a whirl, and got a nice, powdery mix. I could not wait, made a half a cup of cocoa and found it could be sweeter. I then sifted more confect sugar and just added it to the rest. Looking forward to a cup later. UPDATE 2/9/18: Even with the added sugar, it still wasn't sweet enough. It seems confect sugar doesn't carry the same sweetness as regular.
My kids love hot chocolate. In the Fall and Winter time, I can barely keep enough in stock as they drink it constantly. In an effort to save money, I create this Easy Homemade Hot Chocolate Mix. Now I love it more than the store bought ones.

For once in my life I followed the powder directions to the T! However the only change I did make was using water instead of milk, since I am Lactose Intolerant. I would also recommend using coffee for a mocha, added the mix to my coffee this morning and it made a very good Mocha. I did find the mixture a little sweet for me personally but the chocolate flavor is on point! My fiance did say that it needed to be sweeter but that just shows personal taste differences. I am actually giving this mix away as Christmas gifts this year to my Niece's, Nephew, and as a part of the white elephant gift at the grandparents house. Yes I will be printing the recipe from the website so that Martha gets all the credit.
